Running game

In this form of game, the basic idea is to move ones checkers quickly across the points to one’s home board. Holding game

In this form of game of online backgammon one may try to place an anchor of more than two checkers in the opponent’s side. They may be kept there for long and towards the end, when the opportunity comes might come in handy to hit some of the opponent’s checkers.

Priming game

This is rather a defensive form of playing online backgammon, as players try to build walls along their own board to block the movement of opponents, out of their home board. Playing this game they have plenty of chances to move their checkers back to their own board.

Back game

A typical strategy, in which players build a strong prime on their home board and at the same time maintain an anchor of few checkers on the opponent’s side. This helps them to counter hit their opponent efficiently enough.
