Multi Losing - how to avoid losing playing multi-table poker (playing more than one table at once)

When you finally make the move and decide to multi-table (playing more than one table at once) then you need to choose wisely on what you play, and how you setup your screen. I can tell your from experience some of the ways I have multi-lost.
First off, if you are playing for cash then you need to size up your table just like if you are playing a single table. It’s best if you play tables that are similar. For example, I would not play on one table that is extremely tight where you can steal the blinds consistently and then on the other table the table is loose and it’s hard to bluff. It can be easy to mix up the two and have your first multi-loss.
Secondly, pick the same game. If you’re playing Stud on one table, don’t play Razz on the other. If you mix up these two, you may be betting all your chips away. Also try to stay with the same stakes. If you are on a $1/$2 table and a $10/$20 table, you might mix up the bets here.
Lastly, if your software does not tile the tables or have some method to nicely lay them out. Do not overlap them. I have had a table pop-up for its action just as I was clicking raise on the table I was on and found myself raising a player who just went all-in and I had no hand.
In tournaments, you cannot pick your tables but stick to the same venues of games and if you are playing MTT’s then I would suggest concentrating more on whichever one is closer to the money.
This is free advice that was paid for by me and some of it was quite costly. So multi-table, don’t multi-lose.
